Pre-primary Classroom
This term the Pre-primary students have been learning about ‘Our community’. We started off discovering what ‘community’ meant and thought about different places in our community and the purpose they have within our community. We used box construction to create emergency vehicles and local buildings then placed them on our town map at the back of our classroom.
We then went on to learn about Health Care. We watched a video about the role of doctors and nurses and also learnt about dental hygiene. We had a visit from Dot’s mum who told us about her role at Merredin Hospital and made some doctors kits to take home.
We have also been learning about hospitality, making bread with Miss McKerchers dad and shop keepers (engaging with play in our class shop). We love learning about our community and can’t wait to learn about posties, tradies, train drivers and farmers in the upcoming weeks.
