Merredin College Open Day

Merredin College Open Day

On Friday 8 September, many prospective parents and other community members took advantage of the opportunity to observe ‘in action’, the secondary part of Merredin College. The day included visits to our purpose-built classrooms to see classes in progress as well as student work on display. These included the gymnasium, Rutherford Trade Training Centre, Art and Woodwork rooms, Science laboratories, and Mathematics and ICT rooms.

Highlights of the day were the Dance and Drama performances coordinated by teachers, Miss Natalie Beale and Mr Tom James. Both staff and students put a great deal of time into preparing for the performances with outstanding results!

The Student Leaders also did a magnificent job of assisting our visitors during the tour of the College. Hospitality students, under the supervision of Mrs Nicole Newton, provided all in attendance with a sumptuous afternoon tea.

We acknowledge Ms Rebecca Wallace for her professional coordination of the Open Day and thank all staff for their contribution to its success. We also express our appreciation to the parents and wider community who attended the day to ‘see us in action!’
