This year’s NAIDOC Week was a combined event hosted by Merredin Shire and Merredin College, held at the College. Community members were welcomed to share their traditions with the students and participate in the events held throughout the week.

The programme consisted of:

• Opening and closing ceremonies which we saw  magnificent didgeridoo and local aboriginal dance performances.
• Elders Storytelling Sessions in the Primary classrooms.
• Panel Discussions in Secondary HASS classes.
• Traditional Land Visit to Reserve.
• NAIDOC Football Cup.
• Sand Art Project on the school oval.
