Merredin College K-2 Merrydin Concert

Tuesday December 12 was the K-2 Merrydin concert. The amazing Arts staff had the gym looking wonderful with lights, student art work, paper flowers and a brilliant back drop. The students arrived with much enthusiasm and the energy remained high throughout the night. The Kindergarten students started the evening with a fantastic rendition of ‘Newspaper Mama’ and ‘Mr Clickety Cane’. Then the Pre-primary and Pre-Primary 1 classes bounded on stage and performed ‘How much is that Doggy in the Window?’ ‘Wags’ and ‘Dancing with Wags the Dog.’ They looked adorable with their ears and tails and sang beautifully. Next we were treated to the Year 1 class who were ‘Singing in the Rain’. They also performed ‘Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah’ and danced to ‘Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows’. The Year 1/2 class posed the question ‘Are We There yet?!’ and danced to ‘Rocking all over the world. The highlight was an air guitar solo by one of the students in the class. The audience was then treated to a brilliant acrobatics performance by Miss Beale’s Acro Troupe. Their ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ themed show was captivating! Finally, the Year 2 class presented the headlines from the sports section and asked ‘What’s Your Favourite Sport?’ before dancing to a sporting mash-up. The evening was a smashing success and was enjoyed by all in attendance.
