COMMUNITY

Merredin College P&C encourage all parents/carers to become involved as your children will benefit from your contribution.

The Parent & Citizens Association (P & C) provides valuable financial and advisory assistance to the school and is a social focus for parents. This is the sole fundraising body for the school.

The P & C’s core business is to operate the Canteen and Uniform Shop and raise funds to assist in the provision of programs and resources at Merredin College.

Current Office Bearers:

Dionne Alberti – President
Justine Low – Vice President
Kristy Van Der Merwe – Treasurer

The canteen is open daily for staff and students.

Please ensure that your child places their order prior to school.

Our menu complies with the healthy eating traffic light system and is reviewed and updated each term.

Canteen staff also cater for smaller events held at the school throughout the year.  This assists in the making sure our business remains viable.

Orders, with payment can also be placed at the front office at others times and will be processed and distributed to students.

Each year the P&C takes part in fundraising activities to donate to worthy projects and student extracurricular activities.

Any group within the school wishing to raise money for a specific event such as the Choir or Year 6 Camp must have a representative to report to the P&C meeting.  All submissions to the P&C will be considered.

The P&C has one significant catering fundraiser in June each year. In the past this has been catering for the Eastern Wheatbelt Education Network Conference (EWENCon). This a professional development day for all staff attached to Eastern Wheatbelt Schools. Parent help is essential to the success of this event. It is our opportunity to showcase our school to the wider educational community and raise $2000-$3000.

Families are asked to contribute $20.00 per annum to the P&C when paying the College Contributions and Charges. This helps keep the P&C financial and alleviates the need for excessive fundraising.
