Commissioner Advisory Committee
This year Merredin College has been selected as a lighthouse school to participate in a program with Mr Colin Pettit, the Commissioner for Children and Young People.
The Commissioner visited our school and met with our school leaders to complete the first in a series of meetings this year. The purpose for this advisory committee is to learn first-hand what issues and concerns really affect the young people of our nation.
Merredin College was selected as a progressive lighthouse school in country Western Australia to provide a real voice for young people all across the state. The advisory committee is made up predominately from our student leaders and gives them an opportunity to have their voices heard and instigate positive change.
