Year 6 Camp

Year 6 Camp

Our Year 6’s headed off to Kalgoorlie for their Year 6 School Camp during Week 9 of this term.

The excursion provides students with opportunities for social development, particularly in the skills of social interaction, cooperation and team building, aligning with
the Health and Physical Education Learning area outcomes. Students learn in many different ways, often the learning is enhanced by first-hand experiences gained on these excursions.

The stayed at Camp Fairbridge Kalgoorlie, arriving on the train on Tuesday afternoon. They spent the afternoon playing games and getting to know the campgrounds, finishing off the evening with a Quiz Night.

Wednesday they visited and had a tour of Hannans North Tourist Mine and the KCGM Super Pit. They did some rock climbing and had a silent disco!

Thursday the Year 6’s went to the Museum of the Goldfields, went swimming and had some water activities, finishing the day with a movie night.

On their last day they all visited the Two-Up School and had a history lesson and participated in some tech activities at the Kalgoorlie Primary School before jumping on the train to head home.
