Year 7.1 Mathematics – Exploring Fractions
Year 7.1 students recently participated in a hands-on, collaborative learning activity designed to deepen their understanding of fractions and their equivalents. Using pegs and number lines, students worked together to identify and correctly position various fractions along a visual representation of a whole.
Students also explored equivalent fractions. Once the fractions were established, the activity extended to include the corresponding decimal and percentage forms, allowing students to make meaningful connections between these different representations.
The session was highly engaging, with students actively discussing, problem-solving, and supporting one another throughout the task.
