Students in PP-Year 6 from Merredin College joined millions of readers around Australia for National Simultaneous Storytime 2024. An interactive event where all students read the same chosen picture book, that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy. Australian children’s book ‘Bowerbird Blues’ written and illustrated by Aura Parker was selected by an expert panel of children and youth services librarians who commended it for its striking illustrations and sophisticated storytelling all whilst engaging with important environmental issues.
