Netball

Result: 2^nd – C Grade

The Girls Netball team represented Merredin College with pride, competing strongly in the highly competitive C Division throughout Country Week. Their resilience was on full display in the 3rd/4th playoff, where they fought back from a 10-goal deficit to lose by just one goal in the final minute. Throughout the week, the team demonstrated impressive skill, teamwork and sportsmanship, earning special recognition from officials for their respect towards both opposition teams and umpires.

Basketball

Result: 3^rd – E Grade

The boys had a fantastic week, finishing third in their grade after five days of basketball. They showed great determination, resilience and teamwork throughout the competition and continued to grow as a group with every game. Their attitude, sportsmanship and support for one another were a real highlight of the week. Well done to all the boys on a fantastic effort.

Boys Volleyball

Result: 7^th – B Grade

The Country Week Boys Volleyball team had a tough but highly competitive week, showing great determination in every match. They worked exceptionally well together as a team and continued to improve their skills and understanding of the game as the week progressed. The team recorded one win and were involved in several close contests that could have gone either way. Their efforts resulted in a strong 7th place finish in B Grade. Congratulations to captain Jacob B, who was named Player of the Week for his outstanding leadership and performance throughout the tournament.

Girls Volleyball

Result: 2^nd – B Grade

The Girls Volleyball was made up of a strong mix of Year 9 to 12 students. Led by legendary captain Alexis K, the girls fought valiantly against schools from across the state with friendly determination and silky smooth teamwork. The Volleyball girls continued the Merredin College traditions of respect and sportsmanship, building meaningful friendships with opposing teams and previous opponents. When all the dust settled, the Girls confidently made it to their grand final, but were ultimately defeated in an exceptional display of Volleyball skills. I am so proud of these wonderful young ladies that exemplify the college values of Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Striving to Succeed.
