Follow the Dream – Djinanginy UWA Camp

Follow the Dream – Djinanginy UWA Camp

Last week we attended the Djinanginy UWA Camp to Perth with Follow the Dream students from Northam, Cunderdin, Merredin and Moora. Our camp started off with a tour of Optus Stadium, looking at the facilities, and hearing about the wide variety of careers and causal work available at the Stadium if students choose to move to Perth for further study. We had a relaxing finish to the day with a swim at the pool and watching a movie.

The next day we attend the University of Western Australia School of Indigenous Studies Djinanginy Day with students from many schools around Perth. We got to take part in a number of different activities around the University that were focused on this year’s theme of ‘Health’. Students got to take part in activities with different faculties relating to Audiology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Physiology, and Biology. Students also met with current Indigenous university students and staff from the School of Indigenous Studies, who shared their experiences and knowledge. It was a great two days of getting to know the other Follow the Dream students and visit UWA.
