Musica Viva

Musica Viva

On 15 August the small musical group called ‘Mukukuhan’ visited and performed for the primary students. The group consisted of three men who played music and instruments from Indonesia and they certainly had our students captivated. The music of Makukuhan reflects the experience of its members in Australia and Indonesia and also the rich culture of its Indonesian roots. Their repertoire features music for percussion instruments, embracing a variety of styles. The students were involved in movement activities which taught them specific concepts of music whist having a lot of fun at the same time. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the culture of a country that is so close to Australia.
