Pre-primary Classroom

What an awesome start to the school year! The Pre-primary students have done a wonderful job of settling into their new classroom and school routine. It’s been very exciting discovering and joining in new activities. We love going to the Music Room with Mrs Adamson and visiting the Art room for our classes with Miss Burnett. It’s always fun when we visit the library for buddy reading with the Year 3 class. In Literacy, we have been busy learning and reviewing the sounds of the alphabet using the Jolly Phonics program. We love singing along to the alphabet songs and dancing to the actions. In Mathematics, we have been counting collections and investigating various two dimensional shapes. Our classroom has an ocean theme this term and we have had lots of fun discovering new and interesting facts about what happens ‘under the sea’. We have been creating all sorts of sea creatures and imagining we’re at the beach, swimming, fishing in our boat and sculpting some pretty amazing sand castles. We have been busily creating all sorts of delightful commotion in the ocean this term. It’s going to be a great year!
